The infighting among the BJD leaders for the Bhubaneswar-Central Assembly seat ticket continues. Incumbent MLA Ananta Narayan Jena accompanied by hundreds of supporters made a show of strength on the premises of Naveen Niwas on Wednesday to add teeth to his ticket lobbying.
As per reports, corporator Amaresh Jena has been lobbying hard for a ticket for the Bhubaneswar-Central seat. He had earlier made some unsavoury remarks about the MLA during a power show.
On Tuesday, the corporator also organised a meeting of his supporters, challenging the leadership of the MLA.
As two ticket aspirants are in the Assembly segment, a tug of war has been continuing between the MLA and the corporator while the BJD’s top leaders are reportedly in a fix.
When asked about if he came to Naveen Niwas to lobby for a ticket, BJD MLA Ananta Narayan Jena tried to divert the issue. He said, "Our Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik provided assistance from the special problem fund for developmental works in Bhubaneswar Central Assembly seat. People came voluntarily to thank him.”
However, the reaction of corporator Amaresh Jena was not received.
