Ahead of the elections, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Odisha has initiated a drive to reach out to 1 crore people and to get their suggestions and feedback before preparing its poll plank (Sankalppatra). The campaign was launched by Odisha BJP president Manmohan Samal at the party office in Bhubaneswar on Sunday.

Addressing a presser, the BJP president said that two vehicles will be deployed in each Assembly constituency to collect suggestions and views of the people. The vehicles will have boxes for Sankalppatra.

Besides, the party has issued a toll-free number 9090902024 and the people can send their suggestions and opinions on various issues and their improvement in the service delivery system through voice SMS, he added.

The saffron party intends to seek suggestions and views of the people on a host of issues such as how to double up the income of Odisha farmers, what measures to be taken to stop the labour migration, what other steps to be taken for women empowerment, what steps should be taken on the chit fund issue, and which welfare schemes should be taken by the party if voted to power.

The BJP stalwart has appealed to the people to give their opinions and suggestions on these issues.

He has asserted that the party has realised 222 out of 235 poll promises made in 2019.
