As the 2024 general elections came to an end on Saturday, the exit polls predicted massive gains for the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Odisha while the ruling Biju Janata Dal (BJD) is expected to suffer a big setback.
 
According to the Exit Poll conducted by India TV, the BJP is expected to get 15-17 Lok Sabha seats out of 21, while 4-6 seats would go to the kitty of the BJD and Congress is expected to win one seat.

The Exit Poll survey by CHANAKYA said the BJP is going to win 16 LS seats while the BJD would get four seats and Congress one.

Similarly, the Exit Poll prediction by India TV claimed that 15-17 LS seats would go to the BJP while the BJD would get 4-6 LS seats and Congress would not go beyond one.

According to the Exit Poll by JAN KI BAAT, the BJP is predicted to win 15-18 LS seats and the BJD 3-7 seats. The exit polls predicted no seat for the Congress.

NDTV’s Exit Polls predicted that the BJP in Odisha would emerge victorious in 15 LS seats while the BJD would get only 3-8, and the Congress is not expected to open its account.

Meanwhile, the Exit Poll by REPUBLIC-MATRIZE predicted that the BJP is expected to get 9-12 LS seats while the BJD may land 7-10 seats and Congress is expected to get one seat.

The Exit Poll prediction by INDIA NEWS hinted that BJP may win in 13 LS seats whereas the BJD is likely to get 8 seats and Congress may end up with no seats in Odisha.

INDIA TODAY-AXIS Exit Poll predicted BJP's victory in 18-20 Lok Sabha seats while the BJD may get 0-2 seats and  Congress 0-1 seat.

'More starting results in store in Odisha'

Speaking to a news agency, Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan said, “We expected more than 15 Lok Sabha seats in Odisha. But more startling results are in store in Odisha. The impact of Modi ji worked wonders. Modi ji will become the Prime Minister for the third time with a massive mandate. A lot of major work will have to be done. He will do those works.”

As for the exit poll results, BJP leader Dilip Mallick said, "When people want a change, no mechanism of the ruling party will work. This time people fought for the BJP. The ruling party became arrogant over 25 years and people broke their arrogance." 

BJP spokesperson Urmila Mohapatra exuded confidence that Odisha will have a double-engine government. The people of Odisha have given votes for the BJP. VK Pandian was a factor which was questioned by people. The BJP made Odia Asmita a major issue.”   

Senior journalist Prasanna Mohanty said, "Exit polls point out that even after 10 years, anti-incumbency against the NDA did not work. The results seem to be headed for 400+ mission.”
