While commenting on the discussions regarding an alliance in Odisha, Union Home Minister Amit Shah said that the Prime Minister and the Party's National President have not yet taken any decision regarding the party's next move in Odisha.

While speaking at the India Today Conclave 2024, Amit Shah expressed confidence that the BJP will see significant gains in Odisha.

"I cannot throw much light on this matter as the Prime Minister and the Party President have not decided how the party should move ahead in Odisha. But I can say this much that whatever our course of action is, BJP will see significant gains both in Lok Sabha and in the Assembly elections," Amit Shah said.

On being asked if it is philosophically possible for a tie-up between the No. 1 and No. 2 party in the state, Shah said "We are in hardcore politics and there is no place for philosophy in it. It is the arithmetic of victory and defeat. We have to strike a balance between the win-loss mathematics and ideology while choosing an alliance partner."
