The change that Odisha needs will start from Kendrapara, said the National Vice President of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Baijayant Panda, who has been nominated to contest from the prestigious Kendrapara Lok Sabha constituency.

A day after he was announced as the candidate for the Kendrapara LS seat, Baijayant Panda visited the Jagannath Temple in Hauz Khas, New Delhi on Wednesday. While addressing a gathering on the occasion, Baijayant Panda said, "The change will have to be ushered in Odisha. No doubt, we will win in most Assembly and Lok Sabha seats this time.”

“We can feel the change under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. We used to seek help from other countries. Now, other countries are taking our help,” he observed.

He further stated that about 80 crore people are provided free ration while lakhs of pucca houses are available to people under the housing scheme.

"People can easily see who is working for development and who is into the business of taking false credit by displaying posters. The change that is going to happen will start from Kendrapara,” the BJP leader said.

During his visit to the Jagannath Temple in Hauz Khas, he sought the blessings of the deities. Hundreds of Odia people living in New Delhi accorded him a warm welcome at a programme organised by 17 different outfits. People of Kendrapara have also congratulated him on his re-nomination for the Lok Sabha seat.

"When Kendrapara people had given me the chance to represent them, I visited every nook and cranny of the district and reached out to the people. Kendrapara was the only coastal district in Odisha which had no rail connectivity. After 10 years of hard work, the rail project is now complete," he said.
