Education, health, electricity, law and order, and drinking water have gone for a toss in the coastal Mahakalpara block of Kendrapara, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) alleged on Saturday.

Citing the deplorable state of affairs, BJP leader Soubhagya Parida launched a veiled attack on the Higher Education Minister Atanu Sabyasachi Nayak.

Without naming the Minister, the BJP leader raised questions about the efficiency of the three-time MLA and the incumbent minister.

“Though he has been in power for so many years, he failed to ensure the development of the Mahakalpara area on all fronts. He was elected MLA three times and remained in power for 15 years. He has become minister of various departments, but what he has done for the constituency,” he fumed.

Soubhagya said that people have been suffering due to a lack of basic facilities and the miserable condition of the health, education, and drinking water infra.

“The minister is painting a rosy picture about the development of Mahakapara, but the miserable picture of the last 15 years that I told you stands in contrast. The creeks and rivers are polluted while bridges being built are crashing down,” he lamented.

“People are being told blatant lies about the Nippon steel plant and a port. I urge people to ask the minister about projects and development,” he observed.

No comments were received from the concerned minister.
