BJP Digapahandi Assembly candidate Sidhant Mohapatra on Wednesday targetted the BJD-led Odisha government on various issues. At a presser, Mohapatra alleged the people of Odisha elected Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik and he is using ‘Roman English to speak in our mother tongue, which is very unfortunate'.

“Not only I, every Odia was hurt after CM had no time to participate in Utakala Dibasa celebration; and he sent his representative to the birth and workplace of Utkala Mani,” said Mohapatra.

The BJP Digapahandi candidate further alleged that the Odisha government organised World Odia Language Conference recently. There is nothing wrong in thinking about the Odia language in future. But everyone should be concerned about its present state, he said.

“Unfortunately during the World Odia Language Conference, the names of eminent personalities were not mentioned correctly. Apart from this, the ruling party gave the charge of the event as a coordinator to a non-Odia,” said Mohapatra.

According to Mohapatra, nothing is being done to promote Odia language which should be the responsibility of the Odisha government. The BJP will definitely raise its voice whenever there is a threat to the Odia language and its pride, he added.

Meanwhile, any concerned official of the Odisha government or the BJD leaders could not be contacted over the allegations levelled by the BJP leader Sidhant Mohapatra.
