Indicating towards a possible alliance with the BJP, the Biju Janata Dal (BJD) on Wednesday claimed that the party under CM Naveen Patnaik is committed to the development of the state and it will take a decision keeping in mind the interest of the state of Odisha.

After a marathon meeting in Bhubaneswar, senior leader Debi Prasad Mishra said, “Today a lot of issues were discussed at the meeting held under the CM’s leadership. Odisha is heading towards next level of development and efforts are on by the CM Naveen Patnaik-led government in this regard.”

Mishra further said that Odisha will complete 100 years of its statehood and BJD and CM has major milestones to be achieved by this time. Therefore, Biju Janata Dal will do everything towards this in the greater interests of people of Odisha and the State.

Senior BJD leader, Arun Sahoo also reiterated the same. “We have discussed several issues and any decision will be taken in the interest of the state,” said Sahoo.

Earlier senior BJP leader Jual Oram also stated that a discussion regarding the possible alliance with the BJD was held at the party’s Core Committee meeting in New Delhi.
