To maintain law and order during the counting of votes on June 4, 70 companies of Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF) will be deployed in Odisha. On Sunday, the office of the Chief Election Officer, Odisha, informed this. 

According to the CEO office,  maintaining law and order and curbing post-poll violence is being given importance in the state.Various parts of the state witnessed many incidents of violence before and during the elections. Keeping this in view, 70 more CAPF will be deployed across the state till June 6 

Keeping such incidents in view, as many as 25 companies of CAPF will be mobilized around the strong rooms and the counting centres, CEO office sources said.

It may be noted here that elections to 21 Lok Sabha seats and 147 Assembly segments in Odisha were held in four phases and counting of votes will be conducted on June 4.
