Bhubaneswar MP Aparajita Sarangi on Monday presented her annual report card, pertaining to her second year as a Parliamentarian, before the people of the constituency.

Sarangi, who was adjudged Best Parliamentarian in the country for the year 2019-2020 by Asia Post and Fame India Magazine, highlighted the several development and other welfare activities undertaken in the past one year in the constituency. 

While addressing a presser, Sarangi said several measures were undertaken to carry out the works at a time when MPLAD was discontinued in the country owing to the COVID-19 pandemic. 

Funds were mobilized from Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) pool worth Rs.96 lakhs.

" Among the various important CSR works, Ugratara Temple Solar Lighting System worth Rs.25.00 lakh and Single Solar lights and Mini Max Dolar light systems worth Rs.43.00 lakh were taken up," said Sarangi.

Sarangi said steps were taken to closely monitor the implementation of all Central government and State government schemes in association with the District Administration in her Parliamentary constituency.

Public grievance redressal was taken up on a priority basis during the past one year. A total of 2150 grievances were received out of which 2106 grievances were redressed. Besides, 10 health-related cases requiring huge financial assistance were recommended for assistance under the Prime Minister National Relief Fund (PMNRF) and Rs 22 lakh was received by the patients," informed Sarangi.

As regards participation in the Lok Sabha, it was 100% attendance during the period. Apart from this, Sarangi participated in 7 debates on Government Bills, raised 37 starred questions and actively participated in deliberation of various Parliamentary Standing Committees.

Similarly, NHAI projects worth Rs 114 crore could be grounded during the period. These projects include one flyover at Hanspal, 3 Vehicle Under Passes (VUPs) and 3 Over Bridges, the report card highlighted.
