Even as more skeletons are yet to tumble out from the Enforcement Directorate (ED) probe into the money laundering angle by Archana Nag, the alleged kingpin of the sensational high-profile sex and extortion case, Bargarh MP Suresh Pujari on Thursday demanded a Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) probe into the matter.

Raising the issue in Parliament, Pujari said that the sensational honeytrap and money laundering case has been hitting the headlines in Odisha, leading to the arrest of the alleged kingpin and others. The ED, probing the financial money laundering aspect, has taken the alleged prime accused and others on 7-day remand recently.

According to Pujari, several prominent political leaders, besides businessman, film producers, real-state tycoons, and bureaucrats as well as police officials are reportedly honey trapped by the accused. Archana was allegedly running a high-profile sex racket to please wealthy and influential people in the state.

The Bargarh MP further stated that the incident has 'shaken the conscience of people at large and put the system of the society in particular and faith of the voters in the democracy in general in the dock'.

“This is not good sign for the democracy and will lead to situation where voters will start losing faith in politicians, bureaucrats and thereby causing harm to the system itself unless a thorough investigation is conducted by a competent agency like the CBI, and all the culprits are nabbed and tried by a fast track court,” said Pujari.
