Breaking his silence over the arrest of his son Seji Singh, Congress MLA Santosh Singh Saluja on Friday alleged that it is a deliberate attempt to divert the attention of people from a bigger incident that recently rocked the State.

According to the Congress MLA, who represents Kantabanji constituency, the entire law and order situation in Bolangir district has gone for a toss and his son was arrested over a ‘minor incident’ at a cinema hall.

Saluja further alleged that police intentionally slapped his son Seji with several serious charges including arms act as a Police DG has a partnership in the cinema hall business.

Therefore, stern action is taken even in a ‘minor incident’ that happened at the cinema hall, the Congress MLA alleged.

“While the officials of Odisha Police have failed to unravel the mystery behind the broad daylight murder of health minister Naba Das, my son has been intentionally arrested for involving in a minor argument,” said Saluja.

Amidst the Congress leader’s allegations, questions are being raised over who is the Police DG that the legislator is pointing at? Whether the lawmaker's son has been arrested for being critical of the Odisha government over several issues?

Meanwhile, Bolangir police or the cinema hall owners could not be contacted over Saluja’s allegations.

It is pertinent to mention here that the Congress leader’s son, Seji Singh was arrested on Wednesday night for allegedly creating ruckus at a cinema hall. He allegedly pointed a gun and tried to spread terror while the cops tried to pacify him. The purported video of the whole incident had gone viral on social media.

A day later, cash worth Rs 19 lakh and 17 litres of branded liquor were recovered from Seji’s gym.
