A day after senior Congress leader and MLA Santosh Singh Saluja's son Seji Singh was arrested in connection with a fight at a cinema hall in Kantabanji, cash worth Rs 19 lakh and liquor were recovered from the latter's gym on Thursday. 

Seji has been booked under Sections 384, 506, 353 of IPC and relevant Sections of the Arms Act.

He was arrested after an alleged fight at a cinema hall in Kantabanji of Bolangir district on Wednesday. He allegedly pointed a gun and tried to spread terror while the cops tried to pacify him. The purported video of the whole incident has been going viral on social media. However, police are yet to recover the gun from his possession.

After his arrest, police conducted raids at his gym and seized Rs 19 lakh in cash. The source of the huge amount of cash is yet to be known as Seji failed to give a satisfactory answer to the police.The police team also laid their hands on 17 litres of branded liquors during the raid. Kantabanji police is carrying out further probe into the incident.

“He has been taken to local CHC for a medical check-up following which he will be produced before the court,” said a police official.

Worth mentioning, Santosh Singh Saluja had a heated argument with Bolangir District Collector Chanchal Rana during a Zilla Parishad meeting over alleged slashing of funds under different programmes in his constituency.
