Bijoy Mohapatra, known as the doughty fighter in Odisha politics, on Sunday jumped to the battleground over Mamita Meher's sensational murder. Joining the battle with a bang, the senior BJP leader made a big startling claim, nothing sort of a bombshell.
Speaking to mediamen, Mohapatra claimed that attempts were made to resolve the issues between the Mamita and the prime accused Gobinda Sahu at Minister of State (Home) Dibya Shankar Mishra’s Raipur residence, prior to her brutal murder.
“Some attempts were on to reach a comprise in the matter between Mamita and Gobinda. The police had already informed this at the government-level. The matter lingered for nearly two months. Prior to her murder, an attempt was undertaken at the Minister’s residence at Raipur,” claimed Mohapatra.

After examining some call records, Police have submitted a report in a sealed envelope to the third floor, the power corridor from where the CMO’s office functions, he further claimed.
In this backdrop, the senior BJP leader further demanded that the call details of the Minister Dibya Shankar Mishra should be examined.
As per Mohapatra, besides minister Mishra, several other influential people were seen making a beeline to Gobinda Sahu’s educational institution. "Some non-Odia officers are also involved as they have suppressed the reports," alleged Mohapatra.
The case will become crystal clear if all the call detail records of deceased Mamita, Gobinda Sahu and the Minister are verified, opine Mohapatra.
As per political observers, the seasoned politician's sensational claims in the sensational case is like firing a single gunshot to kill two birds - MoS (Home) Dibya Shankar Mishra and Chief Minister's office and his Private Secretary.
Meanwhile, no comments have been received from senior police officials. The comments of Minister Dibya Shankar Mishra could not be obtained over the Mohapatra’s claims.
