Sarfaraz Khan : The boy that broke down the Glass Door of No Entry

Sarfaraz Khan isn't your typical Indian super talent. In India kids with a streak of genius are invariably model kids in terms of attitude, discipline and compliance with the system. Its almost a given that both the aspects, discipline and talent are directly proportional in our society, unlike Australia or England where every now and then you have a Botham, Shane Warne, Andrew Symonds, Ponting and Flintoff who appear on the stage, gifted with a special talent that is inversely proportional to their behaviour and conduct off the field. 

Sarfaraz may not be a notorious character by any stretch of imagination. But he has had his share of controversies and disciplinary issues right through his career. Be it a serious allegation about age disparity (actual versus official) or getting banned and match fees frozen for 2 years for making obscene gesture to selectors after an U19 SF game for Mumbai  or his alleged indifference towards sorting out fitness/weight issues....he has had a few distractions and controversies to confront while fighting for his rightful place in the National team. But ultimately, his insanely consistent performances and monumental knocks in game after game in every format and occasion managed to break down the glass wall of bias, perception and every other form of hesitation and unfair indifference from the selectors as he forced his way into the Indian team on merit and merit only. Now that he has got a spot in the team, thanks to an injury to Subhman Gill, he has set ablaze the international stage with a fantastic century while he and his team are under serious pressure and with that knock he has forced the world to take notice of him and applaud his feat.
