Youth kidnapped in Bhubaneswar over love affair; four arrested 

The Commissionerate Police on Wednesday cracked the kidnapping case in Bhubaneswar and found that the accused youths had hatched a conspiracy to break the love relationship of the victim.

As per reports, a youth identified as Raja Sethi was kidnapped by some youths two days back from near Unit-8 Passport office. Raja was reportedly with his girlfriend Priya Nayak when he was kidnapped by one Ankit Kanhar and some other youths. 

Raja’s purported girlfriend filed a police complaint in this regard. Acting on the complaint, Nayapalli Police started an investigation into the matter.    

According to the police, Raja was taken to Puri where he was threatened to snap his relationship with the girl.

Police arrested four youths including one Prakash Nayak, the brother of the girl, and the entire drama came unfolding.

Ankit loved the girl too without her knowledge and was jealous of Raja. He was deeming Raja as his competitor in the courtship. To scare Raja away from the girl, Ankit and the girl’s brother orchestrated the kidnap drama, police said.    

Speaking to the media, Goutam Kisan, ACP(Zone-3) said, “Ankit Kanhar did not like the fact that Raja was in love with the girl. One of the four arrested youths is Prakash Nayak, who is the brother of Priya Nayak.”

“Ankit and Prakash were friends. When Ankit told Prakash about his lop-sided love for Priya, both hatched a plan to kidnap Raja. Out of jealousy towards Raja, the two had orchestrated this kidnap drama and took him to Puri,” he added.
