Youth held for blackmailing woman with morphed nude pics on fake Instagram account

A youth was arrested for allegedly blackmailing a woman by circulating her morphed nude photographs using a fake account on Instagram. The incident has come to the fore in Cuttack’s Bidanasi area. 

The accused has been identified as Dinesh Sethi, a resident of Pattamundei area of Kendrapara district. 

According to sources, Dinesh befriended the victim on Instagram and downloaded some of her photos from the social networking site. 

Later, Dinesh morphed photos of the victim and shared them after creating a fake Instagram profile. The accused demanded money from the victim in order to delete the morphed photos. 

The victim’s brother lodged a complaint with Cuttack Cyber police station. Following the complaint, the police swung into action and arrested Dinesh. Further probe into the matter is underway.
