Youth hacked to death in Puri, two detained

In a shocking incident, a youth was allegedly hacked to death by three miscreants in Puri on Wednesday afternoon.

The deceased has been identified as Ladu Nayak, a resident of Gopabandhu Lane, Narendrakona in Puri.

As per reports, Nayak had an altercation with the miscreants at Jatiababa chhak in the pilgrim town following which they attacked Nayak with an iron rod and sharp weapon.

After the attack, Nayak was rushed to the hospital by police, however, he was pronounced dead by the doctor upon arrival at the hospital.

Speaking about the murder, City DSP, Prashant Kumar Sahu said, “A 30-year-old youth was assaulted by a father-son duo with sharp weapons upon provocation. He was rushed to the hospital but the doctors pronounced him dead.”

The police have detained the accused father-son duo for questioning.
