Youth arrested in Bhubaneswar for robbing brother-in-law of car with fake gun

A youth was arrested on Friday by the Bhubaneswar Airfield Police after he allegedly robbed his brother-in-law of his car at gunpoint.

The accused has been identified as Rudra Pratap Mohanty.

As per reports, Mohanty had a liking for cars. So he hatched a conspiracy to steal his brother-in-law’s car.

He threatened his brother-in-law with a fake gun and grabbed his car on Thursday.

However, Mohanty’s brother-in-law informed the Airfield Police, which nabbed Mohanty midway when he was moving towards Berhampur from Bhubaneswar with the car.

The police also recovered the gun that Mohanty used to threaten his brother-in-law. But it was later revealed that the gun was a fake one.

Mohanty was forwarded to the court on Friday.
