Young woman with ‘burn injuries’ dies under mysterious circumstances in Cuttack; love angle suspected

In a shocking incident from Athagarh’s Badamba block in Cuttack district, a young woman tragically lost her life under mysterious circumstances, with preliminary suspicions pointing towards a love-related angle.

According to sources, the woman with burn injuries was rescued in a critical condition by her family members. She was initially rushed to the Badamba hospital for urgent medical attention. 

As her condition worsened, she was referred to the SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack. Unfortunately, despite all efforts by doctors, she succumbed to her condition during treatment, sources added.

The incident has sparked serious concerns among locals, as questions arise over the cause and circumstances surrounding the young woman's death. While the exact reason is yet to be officially confirmed, family members and local sources have hinted that a failed love affair or emotional distress linked to a relationship could have led to the tragedy.

The local police have registered a case and begun a detailed investigation. The body has been sent for post-mortem to ascertain the exact cause of death.

“Her dying declaration has been recorded in the presence of a doctor and magistrate. The girl had burn injuries. As per her father’s allegations, someone used to call her, and she set herself on fire.  The allegations are under investigation,” said Biswajit Mohanty, Sub Divisional Police Officer, Athagarh.
