Bringing glory to Odisha, young Odia author Rojalin Mohanty has been selected for the PM-YUVA 2.0 Mentorship Scheme 2022-23. She is the only Odia among 44 authors selected for the mentorship.

The Ministry of Education along with the National Book Trust (NBT) as the implementing agency had launched PM-YUVA Mentorship Scheme 2.0 to groom young and budding authors aged below 30 years for the Year 2022-23 who can put across their views and represent India on international platforms.

Under the scheme, all the contestants including Rojalin were asked to submit a manuscript of 5,000 words on a wide range of various aspects of democracy in India so that their suitability of being developed into a proper book could be judged.

Under the scheme, the NBT will publish her book. Other than Odia, the book will also be published in different languages. All 44 young authors will receive a scholarship of Rs 50,000 per month for six months.

Rojalin, daughter of Kumarbar Mohanty and Sudhanshubala Mohanty of Bhubaneswar, has already carved a niche for herself as an anchor and short story and poem writer. While she works with Doordarshan and All India Radio as an anchor, her contribution to Odia literature has earned her accolades like Katha Nabapratibha and Kadambini Nabaunmesha awards.
