Family members allege mental pressure by coaching institute
A young medical aspirant taking coaching in a Patia-based private coaching centre was found hanging from the fan of her hostel room under mysterious circumstances in Bhubaneswar. The deceased girl has been identified as Kalyani Sahu from Salepur in Cuttack district.
Kalyani a Plus II science student was simultaneously preparing for NEET, sources said. Under mysterious circumstances, her body was found hanging from the fan of her room. While the exact reason for Kalyani’s death is yet to be ascertained, family members alleged Kalyani was in depression due to ‘extreme mental pressure’ by the coaching institute.
On being informed, Chandrasekharpur police rushed to the spot and recovered the body. A case was registered and the body has been sent for autopsy while a thorough probe into the incident has been launched.
As per family members, Kalyani had revealed being tortured and harassed by other students in the hostel. However, the hostel or coaching centre authorities failed to address or resolve her issue, it is alleged.
Cops are probing from all angles and launched a frantic search if the deceased has left any suicide note. However, no comments could be obtained from the Chandrasekharpur police or the coaching institute authorities in this connection.
Worth mentioning, a student from Jharkhand was found dead in a similar manner just two months back.
