Woman 'raped after being drugged' in gym in Cuttack

A woman was allegedly raped inside a gym in Markatnagar area in Cuttack. According to sources, the incident happened in March 2022 and victim was allegedly drugged and raped by the owner of the gym.  

A complaint in this regard has been filed by the victim at Markatnagar Police Station. Sources informed that police are currently looking into the CCTV footage and have launched a probe into the incident. 

As per the complaint, the victim and the accused, the owner of the gym, are known to each other and both were in a relationship. However, on March 16, 2022, the accused offered the victim a drink allegedly laced with drugs. After the victim fell unconscious, the accused took advantage and allegedly outraged her modesty. 

The complainant also alleged that the accused threatened to kill her and make her intimate pictures viral if she divulged the matter to anyone.
