Tragedy in Kendrapara: Woman dies after being run over by truck
A distressing accident near Tinimuhani Chhak in Odisha’s Kendrapara district resulted in the tragic death of a woman after a lorry ran over her.
The incident occurred when a scooter, carrying the woman, her husband, and their son, was involved in a collision with the lorry. Both her husband and son suffered injuries in the mishap. The couple was reportedly on way to drop their son in a play school in the area.

Lorry Flees the Scene
Following the incident, the lorry driver fled the scene, intensifying the anguish of those affected by the tragedy. Residents of the area, driven by a desire for justice, staged a demonstration by blocking the road.
Police Investigation Underway
On getting information, local police rushed to the spot and started an investigation into the hit-and-run case.
Till the last report came in, they were working to gather evidence and statements to ascertain the lorry driver's identity and ensure accountability for this unfortunate event.
Local residents demanded that some restrictions on the movement of heavy vehicles engaged in the transportation of sand and other articles could help avoid such mishaps.
Pradip Kumar Nayak, a local resident said, “Several heavy vehicles are engaged in transportation of sand during peak hours here. We urge the administration to clamp some restrictions so that such incidents do not recur.”
Another resident, Sanjit Rout said, “The administration has turned a blind eye to the regular movement of heavy vehicles despite several educational institutions being located on the busy stretch of road. As already there are heavy traffic on the road, the administration should allow heavy vehicles only during night.”
