Woman attacked by gold chain looteras in Bhubaneswar dies in hospital

A woman lost her life due to the grievous injury she sustained on her head after looteras tried to snatch her gold chain when she was with her husband on a bike in Bhubaneswar on Monday.

As per reports, U Bishnu Patra was going with her husband on a bike as a pillion rider from Bhubaneswar to Harirajpur to visit Somanath temple on Monday.

However, two miscreants on bike chased them and tried to snatch the gold chain from Bishnu. 

However, they failed to snatch the chain as it was a thick one.

Subsequently, they chased them again and attacked them in a bid to loot the gold chain. In the process, Bishnu sustained severe injuries on her head. She was admitted to the nearby hospital. However, she eventually succumbed to her injuries after undergoing treatment at the hospital.

"The looteras attacked the woman and snatched her gold chain. She sustained severe injuries on her head in the process. She was undergoing treatment at a hospital. The doctors were preparing for a surgery. However, unfortunately she died on Wednesday evening," said a relative of the woman.
