Nuapada NAC EO 'manhandled by BJD workers'
In a bizarre incident, the executive officer (EO) of Khariar Road NAC in Nuapada district was allegedly manhandled by Biju Janata Dal (BJD) workers on Wednesday. The incident reportedly took place in the presence of local MLA Rajendra Dholakia’s son Jay Dholakia.
The EO has been identified as Kamalasan Rath. The entire incident has been captured in a CCTV camera installed in the office.
According to sources, the BJD workers along with the legislator’s son entered the EO’s office and later they had an altercation with the official over some matter. The party workers created a ruckus for around 10 minutes and then left the office premises.
A supporter was seen lifting a chair in the video and attempting to throw it at the EO.

However, the identities of the miscreants have not been ascertained yet, an official said.
When contacted, the NAC EO said, “I am not sure if the MLA’s son came along with others. The husband of the councillor of ward No-14 Ahmed Ali was present there to discuss an official matter including a No Objection Certificate (NOC).”
“Rather the legislator’s son protected me when someone attempted to throw a chair at me. Ahmed Ali broke the table glass and shouted at me,” the EO said.
“I have lodged an FIR in this connection with police, fearing life threat,” the EO stated.
Worth mentioning, the incident occurred when a video conference was going on in the EO’s office chamber at around 11.30 AM. Around 40 persons including some women entered the office and all of a sudden they started creating nuisance.
