Saroj Sahu (L), Hansita Abhilipsa and Anil Mohanty (R)
The pandora’s box of discrepancies surrounding fraudster Hansita Abhilipsa refuses to die down. A bail application filed by her in Bhubaneswar's Additional District and Sessions Judge Court has brought forth alarming inconsistencies in her statements to the police.
As per reports, on December 31, Abhilipsa and her aide, Anil Mohanty, were arrested by police in Bhubaneswar for siphoning off funds by posing as the daughter and son-in-law of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Principal Secretary PK Mishra.
At that time, she had stated to the police that Anil Mohanty was her husband. However, in her bail application, she has reportedly mentioned Saroj Sahu as her husband, highlighting glaring inconsistency and her continuing web of lies.
The bail application cited Hansita Abhilipsa seeking interim relief from police custody to take care of her ailing husband, explicitly mentioned as Saroj Sahu.
The discrepancy was presented to the court by the state government’s lawyer, opposing the bail plea on grounds of narrative inconsistency.
Meanwhile, police were aware of the possibility of Saroj Sahu being the fraudster’s real husband and had subsequently nabbed him on January 7 from the Khandagiri area of Bhubaneswar.
As such, according to police records, Abhilipsa’s husband is Anil Mohanty, and this is supported by documents that include her signature. However, her conflicting claims regarding Saroj Sahu have now become a matter of scrutiny.
In recent developments, an alleged pre-wedding photo featuring Hansita Abhilpsa with Manoj Acharya, a Congress leader from Kandhamal district and a former MP candidate, has further complicated the narrative.
