Who changed colour of Biju Patnaik’s statue in Cuttack? CMC clueless
A controversy has erupted in Cuttack after the colour of Biju Patnaik’s statue, located near Mangala Mandir Chhak in Mahanadi Vihar, was mysteriously changed. The statue, which was earlier green, has now been repainted in golden yellow. However, it remains unclear who made the change and why.
Surprisingly, the Cuttack Municipal Corporation (CMC) has stated that it has no knowledge of the repainting. The sudden colour change of the statue, which was unveiled in 2018, has sparked public curiosity and debate.
Meanwhile, the issue was raised in the Odisha Legislative Assembly, where Banki MLA Debi Ranjan Tripathy blamed the State government for the alteration. The BJP has not yet commented on the matter.
The incident has triggered discussions in political circles and locals, who are demanding answers regarding the unauthorized modification.
Earlier last month, some unidentified miscreants had vandalised the statue of Biju Patnaik at Umar village in Cuttack.
The incident then intensified the political battle in the State as it came just a few hours after the Mohan Majhi-led BJP government announced the delinking of Biju babu’s birth anniversary from Panchayati Raj Diwas celebration.
