The Commissionerate Police has arrested Raghav Jena, the mastermind of notorious bouncer gang, which was allegedly involved in taking forceful possession of disputed land in the capital city and several shop ransacking incidents.
According to sources, the special squad of Commissionerate Police has apprehended Jena from Jatani area on charges of ransacking shops and assaulting police.
The police have seized many sharp weapons and incriminating materials from Jena during his arrest, sources informed.
Jena was wanted in four cases lodged at Nayapalli police station in Bhubaneswar.
Earlier, the Commissionerate Police had arrested more than 15 members of the gang for their involvement in the ransacking two shops of Subas Aggrawal and Pradeep Samal in Nayapalli.
Similarly, on April 12, the enforcement squad of Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) had razed the illegal construction of Jena built over government land in Jharpada area.
The enforcement squad with the help of the Commissionerate Police had demolished as many as 30 houses of Jena.
Jena had encroached upon the government land in the capital city and rented out houses built over the illegally occupied land to earn money.
