Unsafe city: Youth chased, hacked to death by armed miscreants in Bhubaneswar

Throwing an open challenge to the Commissionerate police, armed miscreants allegedly chased and hacked a youth to death in Bhubaneswar in the early hours of Wednesday.

The deceased has been identified as Kalia Nayak alias Sushant. He was a resident of a slum under Capital Police limits in the Smart City.

As per reports, four miscreants chased him on the streets and hacked him to death with sharp weapons. It is suspected that the murder was a fallout of past enmity.

The police and the scientific team have reached the spot to probe the incident.

It is pertinent to mention here that to keep a tab on the narcotics trade and illegal activities, the Bhubaneswar-Cuttack Commissionerate police had launched a slum outreach programme ‘Basti Ku Chala’ in early 2022.
