Two minor girls ‘gang raped’ in Odisha’s Kalahandi

In a shocking incident, two minor girls were allegedly gang raped by four men at Bengaon village under Kalahandi’s Lanjigarh Police limits on Wednesday night.

As per reports, the minor girls were returning home after watching a play in the night when the accused attacked them midway.

Though the identity of the accused is yet to be ascertained, it is suspected that they belong to the nearby Pajibahali village.

FIRs were registered after family members of the survivors lodged complaints at Bijepur Police Station.

While the police have launched a massive manhunt to nab the accused, they are yet to be apprehended.

“Two POCSO cases have been registered in Bijepur Police Station. It’s only a day back when the cases were registered and we have taken it seriously. It takes one or two days to collect the call detail records,” said Kalahandi SP, Abhilash G.

“The survivors have been sent for medical tests, the results of which are awaited. We are investigating the case and the accused will be arrested soon,” the SP added.
