Puri Police issues traffic advisory for Rath Yatra, detailing vehicle restrictions and parking to ensure smooth chariot rolling and devotee safety during the festivities. The restrictions were imposed to ensure smooth rolling of the three chariots, movement of devotees, and security of persons coming to the town during the 9-day annual sojourn of the sibling deities.

Puri Police has issued a traffic advisory for this year’s Rath Yatra. The restrictions were imposed to ensure smooth rolling of the three chariots, movement of devotees, and security of persons coming to the town during the 9-day annual sojourn of the sibling deities, official sources said on Wednesday.

According to sources, a comprehensive security arrangement has also been made for the upcoming Rath Yatra in Puri, involving thousands of cops and advanced technology to ensure the safety of devotees and the smooth rolling out of chariots of the Holy Trinity.

Puri is gearing up for the divine car festival, with heightened security measures being implemented across the pilgrimage town. Several senior IPS officers, including Soumendra Priyadarshi, Sanjay Kumar, Amitabh Thakur, S. Praveen Kumar, Sarthak Sarangi, and Puri SP Vinit Agrawal, will be overseeing security arrangements for the world-famous event.

Route and parking arrangement for vehicles coming to Puri

Tourist buses and regular buses:

•    All tourist buses from Bhubaneswar side will be allowed up to Malatipatapur Parking, and their return will be on the same route.
•    All tourist buses from Brahmagiri side will be allowed up to Flourish India Parking, and their return will be on the same route.
•    All tourist buses from Konark side will be allowed up to Swami Narayan Temple Parking, and their return will be on the same route.
•    Regular buses from Bhubaneswar side will be allowed up to Talabania Bus stand via Malatipatapur ROB, and their return will be via Balighat, Samangara village and Batagaon.
•    Regular buses from Konark side will be allowed up to Talabania Bus stand via Balighai and Baidas Nagar, and their return will be on the same route.
•    Regular buses from Brahmagiri side will be allowed up to Talabania Bus stand Mangalaghat, Batagaon, Malatipatapur ROB and Baidas Nagar, and their return will be via Balighat, Samangara village and Batagaon.

Four-wheeler light motor vehicles (LMVs):

All LMVs from Bhubaneswar side will be allowed up to parking places at Talabania side via Malatipatapur ROB, Baidas Nagar and Grid Station. They will park their vehicles as per sequence, likely OLA guest House, Helipad, ITI College parking, Indoor Stadium, Horticulture field Parking and Hygienic Fish Market. After filled up all parking places at Talabania side LMVs will be diverted towards Sterling side parking places via Malatipatapur – Batagaon – Mangalaghat and Sterling.

LMVs from Konark side will be allowed up to parking places at Talabania side via Balighai, Baidas Nagar and Grid Station. They will park their vehicles as per sequence, likely OLA guest House, Helipad, ITI College parking, Indoor Stadium, Horticulture field Parking and Hygienic Fish Market.

LMVs from Brahmagiri side will be allowed up to parking places at Sterling side via Mangalaghat and Sterling Chhaka. They will park their vehicles as per sequence likely Sterling Chhaka road side, Sterling Chhaka Right side, Sterling Chhaka Left side parking places and Saha College Parking.

Two-wheelers:

Two-wheelers from Bhubaneswar and Brahmagiri side will be allowed up to Old Jagannath Ballav parking on a 'first-come-first-served' priority basis, after filling up Old Jagannath Ballav parking, Matitota Helipad ground and Matitota Play Ground Parking via Malatipatapur, Batagaon and Mangalaghat. Vehicle parked at Old JBPC will return via Jatiababaji Chhaka, Kumbharapada PS, Atharanala and Batagaon and the vehicles parked at Matitota side they will return via Mangalaghat.

Two-wheelers from Konark side will be allowed up to Blue flag beach and Hotel Neelachal Ashok Parking via Baidas Nagar, Grid Station, Helipad, Penthakata Chhaka, CT Road and Subhash Bose Chhaka. These two-wheelers will return on the same route. But no vehicle will be allowed to avail ROB road from Toshali Chhaka.

No Vehicle Zone:

•    Entire Grand Road
•    From Light House to Digabareni Chhaka
•    From Subhash Bose Chhaka to Hospital Crossing
•    From Kumbharapada PS to Hospital Crossing
•    Brushav Chhaka to Temple
•    Solakhia Baragachha to Temple
•    Mochisahi Chhaka to Temple

Shuttle Service (three-wheelers):

Three-wheelers coming from Talabania will proceed to Ghoda Bazar via Water Works Road, Odisha Bakery, and Ram Mandir. After dropping the passengers, they will return via Ram Mandir, Shreekhestra Colony, and Mangala Mandir to Talabania.

Three-wheelers coming from Malatipatpur side will be allowed up to Atharanala via Batagaon Chhaka. After dropping the passengers, they will return via the same route.

Three-wheelers coming from the Brahmagiri side will be allowed up to Sterling via Mangalaghat. After dropping the passengers, they will return via the same route.
