Three senior IPS officers promoted to DGP rank in Odisha

As many as three senior IPS officers have been promoted to the rank of Director General of Police (DGP) in Odisha.

Senior IPS officers Vinaytosh Mishra and RP Koche have been promoted to the grade of DGP. 

Similarly, IPS officer Susanta Kumar Nath who is now on central deputation, has also been promoted to the grade of DGP.

The General Administration and Public Grievance Department has issued a notification in this regard on Wednesday.

“Senior IPS officers Vinaytosh Mishra and RP Koche, both belong to 1993-batch, have been promoted to the grade of DGP in the Level-16 of Pay Matrix,” read the notification.

“IPS officer Susanta Kumar Nath (1993 batch), who is now on central deputation, is allowed proforma promotion to the grade of DG of police in IPS in level-16 of pay matrix,” it further read.

Earlier a day before, the Odisha government had announced the promotion of at least eight Indian Police Service (IPS) officers. 

Senior IPS officers Yatindra Koyal and Prateek Mohanty were promoted to the position of Additional Director General (ADG) of Police.

In addition, Awinash Kumar, Sarthak Sarangi and Niti Shekhar were promoted to the grade of Inspector General (IG) of Police. Moreover, three more senior officers namely Pinak Mishra, Banoth Jugal Kishore Kumar and Battula Gangadhar have been elevated to the grade of Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of Police.
