Two trucks fall off bridge in Bhadrak
At least three persons sustained serious injuries after two trucks fell off a bridge on National Highway 16, close to Gelpur Square in Bhadrak on Wednesday.
According to sources, the driver of both the vehicles and a helper were critically injured in the tragic accident. They have been admitted to Bhadrak District Headquarters Hospital for immediate treatment.
As per reports, the accident occurred when a truck moving at high speed collided with a stationary container truck. According to the local residents, the stationary container was heavily loaded with electrical equipment and a huge DJ set, covering a significant portion of the bridge. The approaching sand-laden truck crashed into the immobile container, leading to the fall of both vehicles from the bridge.

Local sources described the dramatic scene, noting the loud crash as both trucks plunged from the elevated roadway causing serious injuries to two drivers and a helper.
Residents have expressed concern over the safety of the highway, particularly with parked vehicles posing hazards on busy thoroughfares.
Earlier a day before, a motorcycle caught fire following a collision with a truck in Digapahandi block in Ganjam district. The accident resulted in severe burns to an individual leading to his death, with two others sustaining critical injuries.
Locals promptly transported the injured individuals to a nearby medical facility for urgent care. Upon being informed, local police reached at the spot immediately and launched an investigation to determine the details surrounding the fatal collision.
