A person was found selling ayurvedic medicines with a cycle in Bhubaneswar
Fake doctor menace seems to have gripped the Capital City of Odisha. Close on the heels of the arrest of a self-proclaimed HIV, cancer, and skin specialist doctor for cheating people of lakhs of rupees, another person was found selling fake medicines in Bhubaneswar on Thursday.
The person from West Bengal, who is an eighth-class pass, was found selling ayurvedic medicines with a cycle at Suk Vihar area near Khandagiri. He was claiming to have medicines curing diabetes, gastric, body aches and many other diseases.
“My owner is a doctor in West Bengal. I have been selling these medicines for the last two years. I used to sell medicines worth around Rs 700 on a daily basis. The medicines are working very well for different kinds of diseases and we have received no complaints from anybody till now. Several people have been cured of different kinds of diseases by using these medicines. But, I don’t know about the composition of the medicines,” said the medicine seller.
Following intervention from the local residents, the person reportedly ran away from the area.
“Medicine sellers and fake doctors are roaming on the streets of Bhubaneswar and duping people. The government should take strict measures against them,” said a local resident.
