Thar hit-and-run case in Bhubaneswar: Liquor trader’s son, pvt bank manager arrested
The Commissionerate Police have arrested two accused from Delhi in connection with the tragic hit-and-run incident at Patrapada in Bhubaneswar on the occasion of Rakhi Purnima.
The accused have been identified as the Scorpio vehicle owner Rohan Ranjan Raut and his accomplice Soham Raj Tripathy. The vehicle has also been seized.
Soham is employed as a manager in a private bank, while Rohan is the son of a liquor trader from the Patia area in Bhubaneswar. After causing the accident, the duo fled to Manali for vacation before hiding in Delhi, where they were eventually nabbed by the Commissionerate Police.
Investigations are still underway to determine if more individuals are involved in the case.

The incident dates back to August 9, when a speeding Thar (SUV) vehicle hit the victims while allegedly racing with the Scorpio at Patrapada under the Khandagiri police limits of Bhubaneswar.
The collision claimed the lives of Rebati Raul of Phuleswari slum and her 8-year-old daughter.
The Thar vehicle involved in the fatal crash was seized by the police earlier. However, the owner of the Thar vehicle is still absconding.
