In a poignant tribute, internationally acclaimed sand artist and Padma Shri awardee Sudarsan Pattnaik has created a touching sand sculpture on the shores of Puri beach.

His artwork features a detailed depiction of the crash scene, honouring the memory of the victims and evoking collective grief.

Pattnaik’s creation has become a focal point for emotional expression, as tourists and locals alike have been seen offering floral tributes at the site, paying their respects to the departed souls. The powerful tribute stands as a symbol of shared sorrow and solidarity in the wake of an unimaginable tragedy.

Among the many stories emerging from the disaster, one that has captured the public's attention is that of Vishwash Kumar Ramesh, the passenger who occupied seat 11-A on the ill-fated flight and the sole survivor of the tragic plane crash. While all 241 out of the 242 passengers, captains, and cabin crew were killed in the unfortunate incident, Vishwash miraculously escaped with minor injuries.

“The whole world is in deep shock as many innocent people lost their lives in the unfortunate incident. I’m deeply saddened that so many doctors and hospital staff were killed along with the passengers in the plane. All I can do is pray to Lord Jagannath that never again such a tragedy happens not only in India, but anywhere in the world,” said Sudarsan Pattnaik.
