Dedicated health teams and Rapid Action Teams continue to work around the clock to manage the situation and prevent further spread. In a significant move, Odisha Health Minister Mukesh Mahaling is expected to visit the affected regions today to review the response measures on the ground.

The minister will begin his visit to the Jajpur district, covering Barchana, Dharmasala, and Madhuban hospitals, before heading to the Jajpur District Headquarters Hospital (DHH) for a detailed status review. He is also scheduled to visit Anandapur Hospital in the neighbouring Keonjhar district.

On the other hand, three central expert teams are arriving in Odisha today to assist with the ongoing containment and assessment efforts. Among them are a seven-member team from the Union Health Ministry and a three-member team from the Food Safety Department, both of which will tour the district to evaluate the current health infrastructure and containment strategy.

Additionally, a four-member independent food safety team from the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) will inspect the region’s food supply and quality management systems to ensure public safety. Public Health officials have emphasized that these coordinated efforts aim to curb the current outbreak and strengthen preventive measures for the future.

“We had been to Dharmasala and took stock of the situation. There are a few new cases admitted today, but their condition is stable, and there is nothing to worry about. We are also in touch with the BDO and the Tehsildar; they are taking all kinds of disinfectant measures. I request people to avoid eating outside and drink only boiled water,” Dr. Brunda, Director, National Health Mission, told media persons.
