Subhadra Yojana second instalment on March 8, CM Mohan Majhi announces on Republic Day

The second instalment of the prestigious Subhadra Yojana will be disbursed on March 8 this year, announced Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi during his address after unfurling the national flag on Republic Day in Cuttack.

In his speech, the CM also stated that the Subhadra Yojana has been instrumental in boosting women's empowerment across the state. He also added that as of yet, more than 80 lakh women have received benefits under the scheme. 

Earlier, the government had stated that the second instalment of the Subhadra Yojana will be handed out on two dates in 2025-on International Women's Day and later on the occasion of Raksha Bandhan in August.

Incidentally, eligible beneficiaries will also receive funds for the fourth phase of the first Subhadra Yojana instalment soon, as per recent statements by Deputy CM Pravati Parida. She had stated during an interaction with the media that a field survey was ongoing to ensure complete coverage of all eligible beneficiaries.

Further, on January 21, the Deputy CM appealed to eligible Odia women working outside the state to apply for the second instalment of Subhadra Yojana before its deadline of March 31, 2025.

In the meantime, the e-KYC process of at least 2 lakh beneficiaries was pending for the second instalment. Additionally, at least 17,000 beneficiaries who ‘opted out’ due to various reasons were re-enrolled in the Subhadra scheme, informed Pravati Parida.

A flagship scheme of the current BJP government, the scheme will distribute Rs 50,000 over five years, in separate phases, to eligible women beneficiaries in Odisha.
