Subhadra Yojana 2nd instalment: Dy CM Pravati Parida updates on money transfer on Mar 8
Odisha is all set to mark International Women’s Day on March 8 with the disbursement of the second installment of the Subhadra Yojana. The prestigious scheme has touched a milestone of 1 crore women beneficiaries, Odisha Deputy Chief Minister Pravati Parida announced on Saturday.
The funds will be transferred directly to the bank accounts of the beneficiaries on March 8, International Women’s Day, during a special event set to be organised in Berhampur. In good news for all those who were rejected in the first installment, they will receive a total of Rs 10,000 (Rs 5000 each for both the first and second installments) together, the Deputy CM announced.
Deputy CM’s Promise:
“People who could not get their first installment due to various reasons will receive Rs 10000, and other beneficiaries who have already received their first installment will receive their second installment of Rs 5000. At least one crore women beneficiaries will get the funds directly credited to their accounts,” the Deputy CM informed.
“The 1 crore milestone signifies the scheme’s widespread impact and our government’s commitment to women’s welfare,” she added.
Subhadra Yojana Aim:
The ambitious Subhadra Yojana was launched on Sept 17, 2024, after the formation of the BJP government for the first time in Odisha. While Rs 5000 was credited to the bank accounts of 25 lakh women in the first phase, around 39 lakh beneficiaries were benefitted under the scheme in the second phase.
The 3rd phase was disbursed to around 20 lakh women on November 24, while another 18 lakh women received Rs 5000 in the fourth phase on February 8, 2025.
The BJP-led state government is targeting to include 1 crore eligible women under the prestigious scheme.
