Subhadra Yojana: 2 lakh beneficiaries yet to update KYC, 17,000 re-enrolled, informs Deputy CM

Deputy CM Pravati Parida reveals 2 lakh Subhadra Yojana beneficiaries need KYC updates, with 17,000 re-enrolled. Urges compliance before the fourth phase in January 2025.

In a key update in the prestigious Subhadra Yojana, Deputy Chief Minister Pravati Parida informed that at least 2 lakh beneficiaries are yet to update their KYC. She highlighted the need for Know Your Customer (KYC) updates and urged everyone to complete them before the roll-out of the fourth phase, slated for late January 2025.

Moreover, at least 17,000 beneficiaries who were ‘opted out’ due to various reasons have been re-enrolled in the prestigious Subhadra scheme, informed Pravati Parida. All the re-enrolled 17,000 will get their first installment in the last week of January, increasing participation significantly, she added. 

The Deputy CM explained, “Out of the 31,000 women who were originally ‘opted out’ while applying for Subhadra, 17,000 have been re-enrolled to the scheme. Nevertheless, 14,000 women are yet to rejoin.”

However, she suggested that they might be belonging to a higher income category because of which they were not re-enrolled. Parida also highlighted the issue of incomplete documentation, with over 2L beneficiaries yet to update their (Know Your Customer (KYC). She advised all the beneficiaries to complete these updates before the fourth phase of the scheme, which is set to commence at the end of January.

Ensuring that the KYC process is up to date is crucial for the smooth operation of the Subhadra scheme. Parida's announcement places a spotlight on the need for enhanced participation and compliance with necessary requirements.

Worth mentioning, the first under the fourth phase of the 'Subhadra' scheme is scheduled to be released shortly, making timely compliance essential.

Meanwhile, the Odisha cabinet has approved 31st March 2025 as the deadline for registration to avail benefits under the Subhadra Yojana for the financial year 2024-25.

Earlier on December 30, Deputy CM Parida announced that in 2025, women across Odisha will benefit from the Subhadra Yojana funds on three separate occasions throughout the year.
