Late BJD leader Naba Das’ brother under IT Dept scanner, raids on at 44 places in Odisha
Income tax officials on Friday conducted a series of raids targeting properties linked to the family of the late BJD leader and cabinet minister Naba Das, in Sambalpur. The simultaneous raids are on in the properties linked to Brajakishore Das, a super-class contractor and brother to the deceased leader.
The coordinated operation involved joint teams from Bhubaneswar and Chhattisgarh. Sources indicate that the searches are being carried out simultaneously across 44 locations within the state, including Jharsuguda, Balangir, and Bargarh.
As per reports, Brajakishore owns a construction firm, a transport company, mines, and stone quarries and is engaged in house construction works. As of now, the authorities have not made public the motivation or the specific connections prompting these raids.

Worth mentioning, Naba Das’ son Bishal Das had been detained by police in Chhattisgarh’s Mahasamund district. Bishal had been detained along with a few sarpanchs, samiti members and his supporters over no-confidence vote against the Kirmira block chairman.
