The Shree Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA) after extending an invitation to Lord Jagannath and seeking His blessings for the upcoming inauguration of the Srimandir Parikrama Prakalp; met the Shankaracharya of Puri Gobardhan Peeth, Swami Nischalananda Saraswati and solicited his gracious presence on the occasion. 

The Shankaracharya of Puri Gobandhan Peeth is currently at Ujjain in Madhya Pradesh

A delegation of the SJTA including temple administrator, Ranjan Kumar Das and members of the Srimandir Management Committee, Ashok Mohapatra met the Shankaracharya in Ujjain on Saturday. As per sources, the seer was urged by the temple administration to grace the occasion and his guidance was sought for the inaugural ceremony of the Srimandir Parikrama Prakalp. 

Sources said the Shankaracharya will reach Shrikshetra next month. Following tradition, a delegation of the Srimandir Management Committee led by the Puri Gajapati Maharaja Dibyasingha Deb will meet the seer and extend him a formal invitation for the inauguration scheduled on January 17, 2024.

Earlier the seer had expressed his displeasure alleging that he was being sidelined by the temple administration and the government on various matters related to the temple.
