Six, including three children, injured in road mishap in Odisha’s Keonjhar

In a tragic head-on collision between a car and a truck in Keonjhar on Saturday, six persons, including three children, suffered critical injuries.

All the injured persons are undergoing treatment at Keonjhar District Headquarters Hospital (DHH). 

According to sources, a family hailing from Khordha was going to Ghatagaon in Keonjhar district to have a darshan of goddess Maa Tarini. As they were nearing Dhanbeni on National Highway 220 under Patna Police limits, their vehicle collided with a truck coming from the opposite direction.

The collision was so intense that the car turned into a mangled heap, trapping the occupants in it. 

On being informed, a team of fire personnel reached the spot and with the help of locals, launched a rescue operation. All the injured persons were first admitted at Patna government hospital. Later, they were shifted to Keonjhar DHH as their condition deteriorated. 

Meanwhile, the police have launched an investigation to ascertain the cause of the accident.
