Showroom selling fake footwear busted in Bhubaneswar, duplicate shoes worth lakhs seized

A large-scale counterfeit footwear selling operation was busted during a surprise raid on a showroom at Ashok Nagar in Bhubaneswar on Friday.

Fake shoes worth lakhs of rupees were reportedly seized by the police personnel of the Capital police station during the raid.

As per reports, police conducted the raid on a shoe showroom located in the Ashok Nagar area, uncovering a massive stash of counterfeit branded footwear. The operation, conducted based on specific intelligence inputs, revealed that the store was allegedly selling fake versions of high-end shoe brands to unsuspecting customers.

As per police sources, a significant consignment of knock-off shoes, estimated to be worth several lakhs of rupees, was seized from the showroom premises.

Showroom owner detained 

The owner of the showroom has reportedly been detained by the police for questioning.

Police have reportedly launched a broader investigation into the supply chain and distribution network of the counterfeit goods.

The incident has raised concerns over the rising number of counterfeit product sellers operating openly in city markets.

Earlier last week, duplicate cosmetic products sold under top brand names at Unit-1 Market in Bhubaneswar were seized.

The raid exposed an allegedly black market operation, leaving local traders on edge amid an ongoing investigation.

The joint operation led to the seizure of a large quantity of duplicate beauty products being sold under the guise of popular brands.
