Rs 1,525.54 Cr investment in Plastics & ESDM sectors to create 4,570 jobs in Odisha

A total of eight projects to a tune of Rs 1,525.54 crore were approved on Friday by the Odisha government in the Plastics and ESDM sectors. The projects are expected to generate 4,570 new employment opportunities in the State.

According to official sources, in a significant boost to the State's industrial landscape, the 137th State Level Single Window Clearance Authority (SLSWCA), chaired by Chief Secretary Manoj Ahuja, has approved eight investment proposals worth Rs 1,525.54 crore.

Key projects in Plastics & ESDM sectors

The Plastic sector alone is seeing massive growth with companies like Greenwave Circularity Private Limited, which plans to invest Rs 650.23 crore in Khordha. The company will set up a manufacturing facility for recycled flakes, pellets, and resin, with an expected capacity of 4,04,150 MT, creating 600 jobs.

Additionally, Gurumaharaj Mining & Industries Private Limited is to invest Rs 239.07 crore and establish an underground pipeline manufacturing unit in Khordha, which will produce 2,50,000 meters annually, generating 860 jobs.

Other notable investments include Supreme Industries Limited in Cuttack, which will invest Rs 175 crore to set up a plastic products unit, providing 165 jobs.

Similarly, Lucro Plastecycle Private Limited is to invest Rs 100 crore in Jagatsinghpur district to establish a manufacturing facility for post-consumer recycled plastic products, which is expected to generate 1,615 jobs.

Another player, Royal Touch Fablon Private Limited, will manufacture PP woven sacks in Balasore with an investment of Rs 60.78 crore, creating 600 jobs.

In the ESDM sector, two companies will make significant strides. Heraeus Technologies India Private Limited will invest Rs 188.46 crore in Khordha to set up a manufacturing unit for metallurgical sensors and related products, creating 400 jobs.

Likewise, Addsoft Technologies Pvt Ltd will establish a facility in Cuttack for manufacturing LED TVs, IoT devices, and interactive panels, contributing 330 jobs.

With these strategic investments, Odisha is poised to strengthen its position as a hub for manufacturing, offering ample employment opportunities and driving economic growth across key sectors.

The approved projects spanning over a wide range of sectors mark a defining chapter in the success of the government’s first year in office and set the tone for its long-term vision of ‘Samruddha Odisha’ by 2036, a press release issued in this regard mentioned.
