Several members of Navi Mumbai robbery gang arrested with firearms in Kandhamal
As many as three individuals linked to a notorious robbery gang from Navi Mumbai were arrested with firearms, confiscated from their possession, in Odisha’s Kandhamal late Monday night.
The arrested individuals have been identified as Arif Ansari, Sahaban Saha, and Sheikh Mustafa. Police sources revealed that two additional gang members remain at large.
As per reports, the cops from Sarangada Police Station were conducting routine vehicle inspections in the area when they found a suspicious vehicle halted at a distance.
Following a search operation, as many as two firearms and several other weapons were found inside the car.
Involvement of Odisha Youth Suspected
During a press briefing, the Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) of G Udaygiri, Bijaya Kumar Bisi, disclosed to the media that there is also a suspect involving a local youth from Odisha in connection with the activities of the gang.

"Firearms and other weapons were seized from the vehicle during the search operation. Following the arrest of the persons, they were questioned. However, they could not give any satisfactory answers to our questions. Later, it was revealed that they were from outside the State and planning for a loot in the nearby area," said G Udaygiri SDPO, Bijaya Kumar Bisi.
