A seven-foot saltwater crocodile was captured by the Forest Department at Bichitrapur beach, Balasore. The operation lasted all night, ending in the animal's relocation to Bhitarkanika National Park.

A seven-foot-long saltwater crocodile that had strayed into Bichitrapur beach under Bhograi block in Balasore district, has finally been captured by the Forest Department personnel on Friday, much to the relief of the panicked local residents.

The huge crocodile was eventually captured after a night-long operation.

As per reports, some local fishermen first spotted the seven-foot-long saltwater crocodile at Bichitrapur beach following which panic gripped in the area. Subsequently, some local residents informed about the incident to the Forest Department.

Following the development, the Forest Department was pressed into action. A team of 30 forest personnel were deployed to capture the huge crocodile.

After a night-long operation, the crocodile was eventually trapped in the net laid down by the Forest Department personnel.

As per the Forest Department sources, the captured crocodile have been brought to Bhitarkanika National Park.
