'Police admin managed political affairs in Jajpur during BJD govt'

Sunanda Das, former Bari MLA, claims police influenced Jajpur politics under BJD. She cited calls from Vinit Agarwal and the role of Collector Chakravarthi Singh Rathore in manipulation during elections.

Sunanda Das, former legislator from Bari Assembly constituency, who recently quit BJD and joined the BJP, alleged that police administration was directly being involved in political affairs of Jajpur district during the previous government. She said this during the popular programme of OTV, Khola Katha.

When asked whether police were controlling the political activities in Jajpur, Das said, “I had got a phone call from former SP Vinit Agarwal asking me to meet Ashish Singh. I was also previously asked by the organisation secretary (BJD) to meet DS Kuttey.”

“The erstwhile Jajpur Collector Chakravarthi Singh Rathore too had a say in the district politics. He was involved in manipulating votes during the elections to six chairman seats,” the former MLA added.

IICs of six police stations under Bari Assembly segment had submitted their reports on the local MLA to the erstwhile SP, Sunanda Das expressed.
No comments were received from BJD, and the concerned officials in this regard.
