Service beyond duty: Odisha Police personnel receive service medals

On the 79th Independence Day, Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi awarded President’s Medals to Odisha Police, fire, prison, and civil defence personnel for exemplary service, including Vigilance SP Saroj Kumar Samal and Constable Satyabadi Mallik. Service beyond duty: Odisha Police personnel receive service medals

On the occasion of the 79th Independence Day, a state-level medal-awarding ceremony was held at the Lok Seva Bhawan in Bhubaneswar.

Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi awarded the President’s Medals to distinguished personnel across the State police, fire, prison, and civil defence services for their exemplary work.

In recognition of their exceptional contributions, President’s Medals were conferred by the CM to officers and personnel from various departments. Police employees were recognised for their distinguished and noteworthy service, with key honours going to Vigilance SP Saroj Kumar Samal and Constable Satyabadi Mallik.

Eleven more officials were also awarded medals for notable service in their respective fields. Among the prison services, Circle Jail Senior Superintendent Kuanr Marandi and Balasore District Jail Superintendent Suchitra Das received the President’s Medal for their commendable service.

Monetary incentives were also distributed to encourage continued excellence.

Six police personnel, noted for their bravery during anti-Maoist operations, were honoured with the President’s Medal.

The Chief Minister further presented distinguished and commendable service medals across multiple categories: Fire Services, Civil Defence, and Home Guards.
